Overview

DOORS is all about learning what each entity does and how to counter it. There are over a dozen entities across the Hotel, Mines, and Archives floors — some deadly, some harmless, and some that actually help you.

This is your complete survival reference. Every entity, where you’ll find it, and exactly what to do when you see (or hear) it.

Quick tip: Don’t try to fight anything in DOORS. Every entity has a survival strategy — and it’s almost always “hide,” “run,” or “look away.”

The Hotel Entities

These are the original entities from Floor 1.

Rush

DetailInfo
TypeChaser / Roamer
FloorThe Hotel, The Mines
DangerHigh — instant death
CueFlickering lights, green glow under door, distant rumbling

Rush speeds through rooms in a straight line, killing anyone caught in the open.

How to survive:

  • Hide in a closet, under a bed, or behind furniture
  • Wait for the lights to fully come back on before leaving cover
  • Rush can sometimes double back — don’t emerge too early

Ambush

DetailInfo
TypeChaser / Roamer
FloorThe Hotel
DangerHigh — instant death
CueFlickering lights (same as Rush), higher-pitched scream

Ambush is like Rush but faster — and it travels back and forth through rooms multiple times before leaving.

How to survive:

  • Hide just like with Rush
  • Be ready to stay hidden longer — Ambush makes several passes
  • Never leave cover after the first pass; it always comes back

Seek

DetailInfo
TypeScripted Chase
FloorThe Hotel
DangerHigh — death if caught
CueScreen distortion, eyes appearing on walls, heartbeat sound

Seek is a tall, black goop entity that chases you through a series of hallways. The chase is scripted but intense.

How to survive:

  • Run forward through every room
  • Crouch under obstacles (desks, fallen beams)
  • Turn when the hallway turns
  • Keep going — you’ll escape if you don’t stop

Figure

DetailInfo
TypeBoss
FloorThe Hotel (Door 50 & Door 100)
DangerExtreme — instant death on contact
CueLoud footsteps, deep groaning

Figure is a blind boss with superhuman hearing. It guards the library at Door 50 and the electrical room at Door 100.

How to survive:

  • Walk everywhere. Running makes noise that draws it.
  • Hide in closets/lockers when it’s nearby
  • Don’t knock over books or objects
  • Full Figure boss strategy guide

Screech

DetailInfo
TypeDark Room Ambusher
FloorThe Hotel, The Mines, The Archives
DangerMedium — deals damage on hit
CueWhispering, fast movement in peripheral vision

Screech only appears in very dark rooms. It dashes at you from the darkness.

How to survive:

  • Shine your light source directly at Screech to scare it away
  • Keep your light moving — scan every corner in dark rooms
  • If it hits you, it deals damage and then vanishes

Eyes

DetailInfo
TypePassive Hazard
FloorThe Hotel, The Mines, The Archives
DangerLow-Medium — damage over time
CueClusters of glowing eyeballs on walls, ceilings, or objects

Eyes are floating clusters of eyeballs that damage you if you look at them.

How to survive:

  • Look away immediately
  • Keep your head down or turn around until you’ve passed them
  • Don’t stare — even a glance starts the damage

Halt

DetailInfo
TypeHallway Trap
FloorThe Hotel
DangerHigh — death if you walk into it
CueLights go out, static fills the room, you’re in a long dark corridor

Halt traps you in a long hallway and approaches from one direction.

How to survive:

  • Walk forward until you hear “turn around”
  • Turn completely around and walk the other way
  • Keep repeating until you reach the end of the hallway
  • Don’t run — just walk and listen

Hide

DetailInfo
TypeAnti-Camping
FloorThe Hotel, The Mines
DangerMedium — kicks you out of hiding
CueScreen shake while hiding, rising tension

Hide is the reason you can’t stay in a closet forever. It builds up tension while you hide, and eventually flings you out.

How to survive:

  • Don’t stay in one closet too long during multi-pass entities
  • Switch to a different hiding spot if tension gets high
  • Multi-closet rooms are your best friend for Ambush

Jack

DetailInfo
TypeHarmless Jumpscare
FloorThe Hotel, The Mines
DangerNone — no damage
Cue Opens the closet door itself instead of letting you hide

Jack is a mischievous entity that jumpscares you when you try to hide. It doesn’t hurt you, but it wastes time.

How to survive:

  • Nothing — it can’t hurt you
  • Find another closet to hide in
  • Beware during Rush — Jack can cost you precious seconds

Timothy

DetailInfo
TypeHarmless Jumpscare
FloorThe Hotel, The Mines
DangerNone — no damage
CueOpens a drawer and a tiny spider jumps out

Timothy is a tiny spider that hides in drawers. Jumpscare only — no damage, and you still get the drawer’s item.

How to survive:

  • It’s harmless. Just a spook.
  • You’ll still collect the item from the drawer.

Glitch

DetailInfo
TypeHelpful / Anti-Softlock
FloorAll floors
DangerNone — actually helps you
CueScreen goes black with glitch effects

Glitch teleports you and your group forward if someone gets stuck, falls behind, or leaves the game. It’s there to prevent softlocks.

How to survive:

  • You don’t need to — it’s helping you
  • Just wait for the teleport to finish

The Mines Entities

Snare

DetailInfo
TypeTrap
FloorThe Mines
DangerLow-Medium — slows you down
CueSlight bulge or distortion on the ground

Snare is a trap entity hidden in dirt floors. Step on it and it grabs you, slowing you down significantly.

How to survive:

  • Watch where you’re walking
  • Avoid patches of ground that look raised or different
  • It doesn’t kill you, but getting slowed during a chase is deadly

Jeff

DetailInfo
TypeFriendly NPC
FloorThe Mines, The Archives
DangerNone — literally a shopkeeper
CueYou’ll find Jeff’s Shop with a sign

Jeff is a friendly entity who runs a shop. You can buy items from him using knobs.

How to survive:

  • Say hi. Buy stuff. Save your knobs!
  • Jeff sells rare items you can’t find anywhere else

Grumble

DetailInfo
TypeCave Rusher
FloorThe Mines
DangerHigh — death on contact
CueLoud rumbling, screen shake, dust from the ceiling

Grumble is a large entity that rumbles through cave tunnels like an underground Rush.

How to survive:

  • Get behind something sturdy — support pillars, mine carts, heavy equipment
  • Don’t be in its path
  • The rumble is your warning — move fast to cover
