DOORS The Hotel Floor 1 Guide: All Rooms & Entities
Full walkthrough of DOORS The Hotel floor — every room, every entity, every secret. Beat Figure at Door 50 and Door 100 with our strategy.
Guide artwork Overview
The Hotel is Floor 1 of DOORS and the floor where every player starts. It launched on August 10, 2022 and received a full revamp in January 2023. With 100 doors, two boss fights, and over a dozen different entities, The Hotel is the longest and most iconic floor in the game.
This walkthrough covers the floor’s structure, every entity you’ll encounter, and step-by-step strategies for both Figure boss fights.
Floor Overview
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Floor Name | The Hotel |
| Door Count | 100 |
| Released | August 10, 2022 |
| Revamped | January 29, 2023 |
| Boss(es) | Figure (Door 50), Figure (Door 100) |
| Setting | Abandoned multi-story hotel |
| Themes | Dark hallways, guest rooms, library, gardens, elevator |
The Hotel is a mix of randomly generated rooms and fixed story rooms. Every run is different, but certain doors always have the same event.
Fixed Event Rooms
These rooms always happen at the same door number:
| Door | Event | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Spawn / Tutorial Room | Grab the lighter from the drawer. Read the note on the wall. |
| 5 | First Dark Room | Use your lighter. Watch for Screech. |
| ~20–40 | Seek Chase #1 | Run forward, dodge obstacles, don’t look back. |
| 50 | Figure — Library Boss | Find 8 books with shapes, enter the code. Full guide below. |
| ~60–80 | Seek Chase #2 | Same as first, but with more turns and obstacles. |
| 100 | Figure — Elevator Escape | Find the circuit breaker, escape in the elevator. Full guide below. |
Seek chases happen at different doors every run, but you’ll always face exactly two Seek chases in The Hotel — one before Door 50 and one after.
All Hotel Entities & How to Survive Them
The Hotel is home to the largest roster of entities in DOORS. Here’s every one you’ll meet, and exactly how to survive each encounter.
For the full entity list including Mines and Archives entities, see All DOORS Entities.
Rush
The most common entity. Speeds through rooms in a straight line.
- Cue: Flickering lights, green glow under door, distant rumble
- Survive: Hide in a closet, under a bed, or behind furniture
- Note: Rush can come back — wait for the lights to fully come back on before leaving
Ambush
Like Rush but faster, and it travels back and forth multiple times.
- Cue: Flickering lights (same as Rush), but higher-pitched sound
- Survive: Same as Rush — hide — but be ready to hide again quickly
- Note: If you leave cover too early, Ambush will catch you on its return pass
Seek
A tall entity made of black goop that chases you through hallways.
- Cue: Screen distortion, eyes on walls, rising heartbeat sound
- Survive: Run forward through every room, crouch under obstacles, turn when the path turns
- Note: The chase is scripted; just keep moving and you’ll make it
Figure
Blind boss with incredible hearing. Appears at Door 50 and Door 100.
- Cue: Loud footsteps, groaning
- Survive: Walk (don’t run), hide in closets, avoid knocking things over
- Full strategy: Figure Boss Guide
Screech
Small entity that only appears in dark rooms.
- Cue: Whispering sound, quick movement in your peripheral vision
- Survive: Shine your light directly on it to scare it away
- Note: If it hits you, it deals damage and vanishes — turn on your light!
Eyes
Floating cluster of eyes on walls and ceilings.
- Cue: Glowing eyeballs in a group on any surface
- Survive: Look away. Don’t stare.
- Note: Looking at Eyes deals continuous damage until you look away
Halt
Entity that traps you in a long, dark hallway.
- Cue: All lights go out, static fills the screen, you’re in a long corridor
- Survive: Walk forward until you hear “turn around,” then turn and walk the other way. Repeat until you escape.
- Note: Don’t run — just walk and listen for the cue
Hide
Entity that lives in closets. Stay hidden too long and it kicks you out.
- Cue: Screen shake while hiding, rising tension
- Survive: Leave the closet and find a new hiding spot
- Note: This is why multi-closet rooms are valuable
Jack
Mischievous entity that jumpscares you from closets.
- Cue: Opens the closet instead of hiding you
- Survive: Nothing — it’s just a jumpscare. It doesn’t deal damage.
- Note: Jack is harmless but can cost you precious seconds during Rush
Timothy
A tiny spider that jumpscares you from drawers.
- Cue: Opens a drawer and it’s there
- Survive: Harmless jumpscare. Just a fright.
- Note: You’ll still get the item from the drawer
Glitch
Teleports you and your group forward if someone falls behind.
- Cue: Screen goes black with glitching effects
- Survive: It’s helping you — just wait
- Note: Usually triggers when a player is stuck or leaves the game
Door 50 — The Library (Figure Boss #1)
Door 50 is the first major boss fight in DOORS. You enter a large, dark library and Figure is patrolling inside. Your goal is to find 8 books, read the shapes on their spines, and enter the correct code into the combination lock upstairs.
Step-by-Step Strategy
- Enter quietly. Crouch-walk immediately. Figure is on the upper level.
- Find 8 books. They’re scattered on shelves throughout both floors. Each book has a unique shape on the spine (circle, square, triangle, etc.).
- Note the shapes and their numbers. Each shape corresponds to a digit in the code. A hint sheet on a desk tells you the order.
- Enter the code into the combination lock on the upper floor.
- Escape through the door. The elevator to Door 51 is upstairs.
Key Tips
- Walk everywhere. Running makes too much noise.
- Hide in closets if Figure gets close.
- Don’t step on books on the floor — the crinkle sound alerts Figure.
- Use the bookshelves for cover — Figure can’t see you, but if it’s right next to you, hide.
- You have all the time you need. There’s no timer — take it slow.

Door 100 — The Elevator Escape (Figure Boss #2)
Door 100 is the final room of The Hotel. You’ll face Figure one more time before reaching Floor 2.
Step-by-Step Strategy
- Enter the room and run for the elevator — Figure comes at you fast.
- The elevator breaks. You fall back into a maintenance area.
- Find the circuit breaker room. You need to restore power.
- Flip all the switches. Figure is hunting you the whole time.
- Run back to the elevator once power is restored.
- Get in and hit the button to escape to The Mines.
Key Tips
- Move fast but quietly. You need speed, but running when Figure is near is fatal.
- Hide in lockers when Figure comes through.
- Use pillars and walls for cover.
- Vitamins help for those moments when you need to sprint to the next hiding spot.
Secrets & Hidden Rooms
The Hotel has several hidden areas worth finding:
- The Rooms — A secret sub-floor accessible through a hidden door. An optional challenge with its own set of entities.
- The Backdoor — Another hidden area with rare items.
- Secret drawers — Some drawers are hidden behind objects and contain rare loot.
- Lever rooms — Pulling levers can open hidden passages or reveal item rooms.
Ready for Floor 2?
Once you beat Door 100, you’ll ride the elevator down to [The Mines (Floor 2)] (/the-mines-floor) — a completely new environment with new entities, mine cart sections, and dark caverns.
